ABOUT LORNA FROM CAIRO
In a Melbourne first we present to you three workshops that you will find inspiring, informative and guaranteed to expand your understanding of Modern Egyptian dance and demonstrate how to flow through confidently without choreographies - AS IT SHOULD BE !
Lorna has been dancing and teaching Egyptian style Bellydance professionally since 1996. She has just returned to UK after living and performing in Cairo for 10 years!
In Egypt, Lorna starred The Nile Maxim boat, Zamalek. Previously she was the first ever contracted dancer at the prestigious 5 star Fairmont Nile City Hotel, where she performed regularly at the oriental Bab El Nil restaurant. Prior to that Lorna was the star of the Nile Pharaoh boats from 2006. She also performed at many weddings and parties across the country and has appeared on Egyptian TV.
ABOUT VIRGINIA MASRI
Virginia is a highly respected and sought after teacher and bellydance performer. Her passion for Oriental dance has lead to very successful career both in Australia and abroad. Virginia is the principal of Melbourne's Aida Academy of Egyptian Dance ,a school that specialises in the study and high quality presentation of Oriental dance. Her approach is propelled by constant travel to Egypt, studying with master teachers and musicians and being inspired by the everchanging, profound beauty of Egyptian dance.
